January 6, 2010 – Villanova, PA (Sports Network) – Scottie Reynolds logged 21 points and Maalik Wayns added 18, as No. 6 Villanova jumped all over Big East foe DePaul early and often in a 99-72 rout at The Pavilion.

Corey Fisher donated 16 points and Reggie Redding scored 12 for the Wildcats (13-1, 2-0 Big East), who were coming off a hard-fought 74-72 triumph at Marquette on Saturday.
Villanova shot 11-of-27 from three-point land and 54.5 percent overall in the club’s fourth straight win following its lone loss to Temple on December 13.
Mac Koshwal posted 14 points for the Blue Demons (7-8, 0-3), losers of four straight to fall below .500 for the first time this season. Will Walker and Nate Rogers each netted 13 points in defeat.
Jeremiah Kelly opened the game’s scoring with a three-pointer, but Villanova scored the next 15 points, capped by consecutive Redding three-pointers and a Reynolds jumper less than five minutes in.
The score was 18-8 before the Wildcats ripped off 23 of the next 25 points, with Wayns bookending the six-minute stretch with a pair of buckets inside.
’Nova ended up hitting 60.1 percent from the field in the first half en route to a comfortable 49-24 cushion, and the Blue Demons never seriously threatened in the final 20 minutes.
Villanova improved to 6-0 at home this year and won its 34th straight game at The Pavilion…DePaul fell to 0-4 in true road games this season…Villanova holds a 13-8 advantage in the all-time series…Villanova’s Mouphtaou Yarou made his return to the court and scored two points. The center had been out since November 16 with hepatitis B.
