Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, Week 6: Grab Vince Young!

Looking for a spot-start darling for Week 6? We’ve got the players available on waivers that you should pick up this week.

It’s Week 6 in fantasy football and there’s still help to be had on the waiver wire. We check into a few names.

Vince Young, QB (TEN) - The Dallas Cowboys set about their Week 5 matchup against the Titans daring VY to throw, as they locked in on RB Chris Johnson. Young responded, throwing two quick scores in the first quarter. While Young threw for just 173 yards on the day, he did enough to show teams that they can't stack the box against the run and stifle the Tennessee offense. Young appears to be developing a nice rapport with second year WR Kenny Britt, whom he targeted early and often. This week, the Titans will face a Jacksonville defense currently giving up the most fantasy points to opposing QB's. In Week 7 the Titans will face the Eagles, who rank 20th in QB points allowed. Young is not yet an elite option and will be limited by his number of dropbacks. But as bye weeks approach, you could do worse than a QB who will face two of the NFL's weaker passing defenses. Young is available in just about half of all leagues and would be a perfect stop-gap for Aaron Rodgers owners, who might miss Week 6 with a concussion.

Mike Hart, RB (IND) - With Joseph Addai nursing an injured right shoulder and Donald Brown out with a hamstring injury, Mike Hart could be in line for a nice workload in Week 6. When Addai went out of Week 5's contest against the Chiefs, Hart seized his opportunity, rushing 11 times for 50 yards and a score. Hart is a better between the tackles runner then either aforementioned Indy RB, and adds an element missing from the Colt running game for years. And while Hart isn't known in fantasy circles, he's the Big Ten's all time leading rusher. Addai was limited in practice on Wednesday and Brown sat out completely so continue to check back with SBNation during the week to find out their status for Sunday's game against the Redskins. If given a chance to start, Hart could make a fine bye week RB2 or flex play.

Deji Karim, RB (JAX) - The rookie 6th round pick made quite an impact in his first NFL action totaling 70 yards on 15 rushes and 145 yards in the return game. After a thumb injury that derailed the first leg of his rookie campaign, Karim was able to get work when MJD's backup Rashad Jennings was ruled out with an injured shoulder. If Karim is able to churn out yardage the way he did Sunday it's plausible to think that he could command close to ten touches per game. It's worth noting that of his 15 carries, 11 came in the final 20 minutes of the game. Perhaps Karim will be used in a closer role, though it's more likely that he was given the ball because the Jaguars were ahead in the game. His status as backup makes him a must own for MJD owners and those looking to handcuff another teams star.
