English Premier League Saturday: Everton Hosts Liverpool On Mersey, Manchester City Tries To Close Gap On Chelsea

Two matches make up the English Premier League’s Sunday fixture list: The match of the week and the weekend’s biggest clash of styles.

The 8:30 a.m. Eastern kick-off is this year's first edition of the Merseyside Derby. Seventeenth place Everton welcomes 18th place Liverpool to Goodison Park. The Toffees are set to be without midfielder Marouane Fellaini while the Reds will be without Dirk Kuyt and Daniel Agger. While a loss today will heighten one club's sense of urgency, a goal with four-or-more goals would leave both clubs clear of the drop.

At 11:00 a.m. Eastern Manchester City has a chance to close the gap on first place Chelsea to two points. The Blues were held to a scoreless draw at Villa Park on Saturday. Now the Citizens go to Bloomfield Road to take on the ever-expansive Seasiders. Blackpool will have to find a way through the Yaya Touré, Nigel de Jong, Gareth Barry shield in midfield, though as important will be keeping Carlos Tévez and City's counterattack from defining the match.
