Louisville Gorgui Dieng Declared Ineligible By NCAA
With 26 days until the first tip-off of the season, the University of Louisville held its 2010-2011 tip-off luncheon. There, Pitino announced the ineligibility of freshman Gorgui Dieng. Pitino said the university will be appealing the NCAA’s decision.
Dieng is the third member of Louisville's 2010 recruiting class who failed to qualify to play this season, joining Justin Coleman and Roburt Sallie, who was expected to transfer from Memphis. Freshman point guard Russ Smith is also currently out with an injury.
