The Minnesota Vikings traded for Randy Moss from the New England Patriots at the beginning of October. By the start of November, Moss is gone. Michael Lombardi of NFL Network reports the Vikings have waived Randy Moss.
Randy Moss Released By Vikings, According To Report
The news is incredibly shocking considering the Vikings gave up a third round pick for him less than a month to go.
On Sunday after the Vikings lost to the Patriots, Moss spent five minutes talking to reporters and included several almost bizarre references to how much he misses New England and loves his former teammates.
“Man, I miss them guys, man. I miss the team. It was hard for me to come here and play.”
“I don’t know how many more times I’m going to be up here in New England, but I’m going to leave the New England Patriots, Coach Belichick, man, with a salute, man. I love you guys, I miss you, I’m out.”
We’re not sure the exact reasoning behind the release but that has to play a role in it somehow. Moss’s release comes as the Vikings drop to 2-5 and nearing a complete meltdown.
