The New York Giants will already be without receiver Hakeem Nicks for the next several weeks. Now it appears they will have to make do without Steve Smith for what is likely two more weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, as the receiver's torn pectoral muscle is expected to keep Smith out for this Sunday's game against the Redskins and the following week's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Report: Giants WR Steve Smith Expected To Miss Sunday’s Game Against Redskins
Smith suffered the injury in the middle of November in practice. Mario Manningham and Derek Hagan are expected to start at wideout in the place of Nicks and Smith against the Redskins. Michael Clayton was signed last week and is expected to see time as third wide receiver for the Giants until their regulars recover.
