We have a top five tight end projection for Week 9, but we've got a special case for all-world tight end Antonio Gates. If he can play, he jumps to the top playing against a poor Texans defense. But we're not too sure he'll play, so we're leaving him out for now.
Fantasy Football Projections Week 9: Tight Ends
Jason Witten (vs GB) - Sure the Packers defense just shut-out the Jets, but we're not sure if they can do it two weeks in a row. Dallas will score at least once, you'd think? Actually, Jon Kitna and Jason Witten have hooked up for a lot of catches over the past two games, Kitna is targeting Witten, Witten is responding.
Projection: 107 yds, 1 TD
Tony Gonzalez (vs TB) - It hasn't been a great season so far for the veteran Gonzalez, but we're betting on a nice game against a suspect Bucs pass defense. Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense is hot, so he should have redzone opportunities.
Projection: 102 yds, 1 TD
Aaron Hernandez (@ CLE) - Cleveland is a poor pass defense, and Hernandez has been a target all season for Tom Brady. The only thing lacking - touchdowns. Hernandez finally gets one this week.
Projection: 84 yards, 1 TD
Todd Heap (vs. MIA) - Heap has three touchdowns in his last two games. Miami isn't a bad defense, but we think Heap continues his scoring streak.
Projection: 75 yds, 1 TD
Jacob Tamme (@ PHI) - We give the new guy on the block a nod for last week's work, 64 yards and one touchdown. Hey, when Peyton Manning is your quarterback, fantasy points are there to be had. Tamme ups his yards just a bit this week.
Projection: 69 yds, 1 TD
