This hasn't been the best of weeks for the Green Bay Packers. QB Aaron Rodgers went down with a concussion, they lost to the Detroit Lions and now they've fallen out of the NFC playoff picture at 8-5. Things could be better for Green Bay, who should seemingly be better than their record. What's worse for the Packers is who's coming up -- Patriots, Giants and Bears. This team may not make the playoffs.
NFC Playoff Picture: Falcons, Bears On Track For 1st Round Bye; Packers Fall Out
Teams that are happy about where they are right now include the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears, who would both have first round byes if the NFL playoffs started today. The Falcons (11-2) are the most likely to take home a first round bye while the Bears will be battling with the Philadelphia Eagles for the other bye.
The Eagles are 9-4 in the NFC East awaiting the Giants, who are currently 8-4 and play tonight. The Bears lead the NFC North at 9-4 and the Falcons lead the AFC South at 11-2. The St. Louis Rams hold the tiebreaker over the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. Those are your division leaders right now who would be making the playoffs if they started today.
The wildcard teams in play right now include the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. The Saints look like they'll wrap up a playoff spot while the Giants will be battling with the Tampa Bay Bucs and the Packers, if they don't win the NFC East.
