People are cheekily pointing out that the New York Jets have three times as many wins as the lowly Nets (3 to 1, exactly) since the beginning of 2010, despite playing 15 fewer games and not one in the last two and a half weeks. Add to that the rumors that Rick Pitino (that he’s since denied), whose NBA resume is about as stellar as the Nets season, might be their next coach and the jokes just keep on coming.

The Nets Are the Butt of Every Joke

↵↵And I haven’t even gotten to the widely gagged-on attendance figure from last night’s home loss to the Bucks, at which a grand total of 1,016 people were on hand to view the deplorable and possibly historical wreck that is the Nets season. ↵
↵↵Yes, yes, there was some snow outside, which serves as a handy impediment for fans looking for an excuse not to attend a game. That certainly didn’t stop Caps fans, however, from making it en masse to the Verizon Center on Sunday for the win over the Penguins. It’s a wonder what a winning team will do to boost fans’ fortitudes when it comes to the weather. ↵
↵↵Oh, but don’t let all this negative press deter you from wanting to be their head coach for a day. You could even maybe shepherd them to a single-digit loss.↵
