Cowboys Jerseys Not Advisable Attire in Philadelphia Region
↵
↵2010 is only about 50 days old and we already have a new trend forming - Eagles fans harassing female Cowboys fans in the Philadelphia area. Granted, this isn’t an entirely new phenomenon, but it seems to have taken on new intensity in the past month and a half. ↵↵In January, a woman claimed to have been assaulted in a convenience store because she was wearing a Tony Romo jersey. Now a woman who was traveling through a Philadelphia airport said she was subjected to an extra-thorough search by security in front of other passengers because she was wearing a Jason Witten jersey. She said she harbored no such suspicions until a screener approached her after the search to ask her, “How does it feel to be a Cowboys fans in Philadelphia?” ↵
↵↵It feels like being fearful for your safety, apparently.↵
↵↵What can we attribute this to? Perhaps that handy immutable fact of sports that Philly fans have been and always will be scum? Sure, there’s that. It’s also possible that Eagles fans might be a tad torqued up that their team suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of the Cowboys. Either way, ladies in the Philly region might want to show some trepidation about showing off that star, at least until Eagles fans no longer have a reason to be so bitter.↵
