Lindsey Vonn Crashes In Giant Slalom, Will Not Medal

Lindsey Vonn will not add to her medal haul in the Giant Slalom.

SI’s Winter Olympics cover girl crashed in the middle section of the course, losing control on a right turn and landing on her left hip after twisting around, according to NBC Sports. Vonn had posted the fastest splits on the Giant Slalom before her crash, despite it typically being her weakest discipline.

Fellow American Julia Mancuso was forced to restart her run while the medical personnel attended to Vonn. Mancuso finished 1.3 seconds behind the leader
