The Nets beating the Celtics isn’t that big a shock. The Celtics are not nearly the team that won the NBA title two years ago, and racked with injuries to boot, while the Nets have a solid core of young players in Brook Lopez, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Devin Harris, and Terrence Williams. But the Celtics losing a game that featured two members of the announcing team kissing? Well, that’s just another Beantown curse.
Nets Beat Celtics, Inaugurate Curse of Maria Menounos
Apparently all one needs to do to break into the play-by-play business these days is become the attractive host of a glitz-and-glamour TV show, then propose a series of “assistant to the stars” segments, then convince someone that Tommy Heinsohn is a star. Seems easy enough, at least if one is Maria Menounos.
No word on if Kevin Garnett reacted to Menounos in the booth -- or the Nets winning -- as he typically does to the longest shots in life.
