You may remember the tale of Wayne Bridge and John Terry from earlier this week. (Long story short: Terry slept with Bridge’s then-fiancée, and repercussions were felt on the English national team.) Before Saturday’s Chelsea-Manchester City match, Bridge and Terry had a chance to shake hands. What do you think happened?
Wayne Bridge and Steve Alford Take Divergent Approaches to the Handshake Line
It's hard not to nod grimly at Bridge's decision not to give Terry the time of day.
Meanwhile, on U.S. soil, New Mexico coach Steve Alford gave BYU's Jonathan Tavernari a piece of his mind in a handshake line after the Lobos upset the Cougars on Saturday. Warning: Alford says a word that rhymes with "pass pole" in this video.
Mike Hlas has a ton more on the incident -- Tavernari, stunningly, is not entirely innocent here -- but it is hard to see Alford not getting slapped by the Mountain West for saying what he did.
