All Saturday Track Activities For Talladega Postponed; Severe Weather Forecasted

With a tornado watch in effect and forecasters calling for severe weather around the Talladega area, NASCAR has postponed all on-track activity for Saturday.

Sprint Cup qualifying was supposed to take place this morning, followed by the Nationwide Series race.

Instead, Cup qualifying has been canceled and the Nationwide race will be run following the Cup race on Sunday (which is still scheduled for a noon local/1 p.m. EDT start time).

But the weathermen (like this one) are expecting damaging winds, large hail and a potential tornado outbreak, warning those camping at Talladega to seek shelter if the weather turns bad.

Here is the current radar (the track is near the white bullseye).
