The 2009/10 season was the first in Jamal Crawford's career that ended with an appearance in the playoffs. Now, it's also the first season that ended with Crawford receiving some hardware.
Atlanta Hawks Guard Jamal Crawford Named NBA’s Sixth Man Of The Year
Crawford was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year today by the NBA after a season in which he finished second on the Hawks in scoring, averaging 18 points a game off the bench. He also posted a career high in PER, true shooting percentage and lowest turnover percentage in helping the Hawks to a 53-win season.
SB Nation’s Hawks blog Peachtree Hoops had this response:
Congrats to Jamal. We all saw it coming, and it was definitely well earned. We can all thank him for having an awesome year for us.
Last year's winner Jason Terry finished second, while Cleveland's Anderson Varejao was third.
