Report: Hawks To Fire Coach Mike Woodson

After the Hawks were routed by the Magic in the second round of the NBA Playoffs, there was speculation that coach Mike Woodson was on the chopping block. It appears that speculation is now reality.

Sekou Smith of NBA.com (and a former Hawks beat writer) is reporting that Woodson will not coach the Hawks next season.

The Hawks have parted ways with Mike Woodson. Official announcement will come this afternoon.

Woodson has improved the Hawks’ record every year since 2004/05, but the Hawks clearly seemed to tune him out during the playoffs this season. His contract was up after this season.
