Grady Sizemore Done For Season After Surgery
The bad just got worse: Grady Sizemore will miss the rest of the season after having microfracture surgery on Friday:
Sizemore played in 33 games this year before hitting the disabled list. He was batting just .211 with a .271 on-base percentage and no home runs.

Grady Sizemore first hurt his knee in spring training. He reaggravated the injury in the middle of May and went on the DL. It was initially diagnosed as a deep bone bruise, but there was concern that Sizemore may have torn the cartilage. Now he’s going to go under the knife as doctors try to figure out the extent of the damage.
Being on the 60-day DL keeps Sizemore out at least through the All Star Break. However, if he’s in need of a microfracture procedure, then the timetable changes significantly. It’s just the latest bad break in what’s been a miserable season for the Indians.

Sizemore was initially listed as day-to-day, but he had an MRI on Wednesday morning, and now he’s out indefinitely and might even need to go under the knife. Needless to say, this is not how Sizemore wanted to bounce back after a handful of injuries already spoiled his 2009.
