As expected, Jorge Posada landed on the DL on Thursday, felled by a fracture in his foot. Catcher Chad Moeller was brought up from AAA to take his place. Moeller went 6-29 with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and owns a career .639 OPS over 492 Major League games.

For his part, Posada says he doesn’t expect to be out for as long as his timetable:
NEW YORK -- Yankees catcher Jorge Posada insists he will be back before the three to four weeks team doctors believe it will take for his fractured right foot to heal.
“It’s not going to take that long,” said Posada, who wore a protective walking boot on his right foot. “They can say whatever they’re going to say. I’ll be here before that.”
The likelihood, however, is that New York will be without its star backstop for as long as the medical professionals say.
