Kendrick Perkins received two technical fouls in last night’s Game 5, making 7 total this postseason. If the techincal fouls hold up under league review, Perkins will be suspended for Game 6.
NBA Rescinds Kendrick Perkins’ Second Techincal Foul
The league also upgraded a personal foul called on Paul Pierce with 8:12 left in the game to a flagrant 1 foul. Pierce went to contest a shot by Magic shooting guard J.J. Redick, and shoved him while he fell to the ground.

It didn’t take very long for the blogosphere to react to the technical fouls assessed to Kendrick Perkins in Wednesday Night’s Game 5. Colby Hall of Sports Grid for example, asks if the second tech Perkins picked up last night was the worst call in NBA history.
Most people have agreed with Hall that the foul was probably unjustified, but to say it was the worst foul in NBA history is probably a little bit of an over-reaction. Hall includes a video of Perkins receiving another questionable technical earlier this season from referee Joe Crawford, who was the crew-chief in Wednesday Night’s game.

With 36 seconds left in the first half of Wednesday night’s Eastern Conference Finals game, Celtics’ center Kendrick Perkins was called for his second technical foul and was promptly escorted back to the locker room by security. His night was over. With Perkins unavailable, the Celtics withered in the second half and were ultimately blown out by the Magic.
Unfortunately for the Celtics, that may just be the beginning of Perkins’ troubles.
