Defense lawyer Francis Lawrence, who is representing UVA lacrosse player George Huguely, claims that his client did not murder fellow student and lacrosse player Yeardley Love, but that her death was the result of an accident.
Lawyer: Death Of UVA Lacrosse Player Yeardley Love Was ‘Accident’
Speaking to reporters outside of a Charlottesville courthouse Tuesday morning, Lawrence read the following:
“Until more information becomes available, it is our hope that no conclusions will be drawn or judgments made about George or his case. We are confident that Ms. Love’s death was not intended, but an accident with a tragic outcome.”
Aside from this development, there have been no new details about the case made public by the police.
