As the investigation continues into UVA men’s lacrosse player George Huguely’s alleged murder of UVA women’s lacrosse player Yeardley Love, there’s another, far more trivial matter at hand. What about the Men’s and Women’s lacrosse teams waiting to play the NCAA Tournament?
UVA Lacrosse Seasons Will Go On Following Death Of Yeardley Love
From Charlottesville, the Daily Progress reports that both teams met yesterday and decided that they’ll continue their season and compete in the NCAA Tournament later this month. The women’s team is ranked in the top 5 nationally, while the men are considered title favorites, and will enter the tournament as the nation’s top seed.
Obviously, nothing’s set in stone and this decision could change, but for the time being, it looks like UVA will play, no doubt with a heavy heart, and in honor of Yeardley Love’s memory.
