Lawrence Taylor’s wife is proclaiming her husband’s innocence calling allegations that he raped a 16-year old girl a “setup.” Now his lawyer has spoken publicly about the situation.

TMZ spoke with LT’s lawyer, Kenneth Gribetz, who tells us Taylor is adamant that he’s not guilty.
Gribetz also tells us LT -- who is still behind bars in the Town of Ramapo -- is “extremely upset about the situation.”
Meanwhile, TMZ has a few more details on the incident that ended in a New York hotel room.
LT was asleep when police entered the hotel room. Upon arriving they found a condom and no drugs. The cops also confirm the accuser was under the control of a pimp and he was later arrested. The accuser also had a “nasty” black eye.
The accuser is also telling police that LT paid $300 for sex, TMZ reports.
A news conference from police is expected this afternoon.
