Police Hold Press Conference Announcing Charges Against Lawrence Taylor

It’s official. Lawrence Taylor has been charged with third-degree rape. That’s a felony punishable by up to four years in prison.

Police announced the news at a press conference on Thursday afternoon. They also said he is being charged with third-degree patronizing of a prostitute, which is a misdemeanor. An earlier report alleged Taylor paid $300 to have sex with the 16-year old girl.

The police also confirmed an earlier report that no drugs were found in the hotel room. Taylor previously failed multiple drug tests in the NFL and has been arrested on drug charges.

The 16-year old girl was a runaway (reported missing two months ago) and reportedly being controlled by a pimp. Police aren’t blaming the “nasty” black eye on Taylor stating they believe it was already there.

At his official arraignment, the prosecution originally wanted a $100,000 bond citing his lengthy criminal history. LT’s Lawyer called that “ludicrous” and the judge settled on $75,000, according to TMZ.
