With the morning groups well into their second rounds at TPC Sawgrass, the scores continue to drop, and a new golfer has birdied his way to the top of the leaderboard: Ryan Moore. The 27-year old Moore has put on a clinic thus far, shooting 6-under on the day through 12 holes, to bring him to 11-under on the tournament. Moore’s round began on the back nine, and has featured five birdies and an eagle so far, before giving a stroke back on his twelfth hole.

Japan’s Ryuji Imada is building off his strong first-day with another round of 5-under through 15 holes, and is tied with Lee Westwood’s, thanks to the Brits’ own second round of 5-under through 11 holes. Francesco Mollinari is alone in third place at 9-under through 11 holes, with John Rollins alone in fourth at 8-under through 15 holes, and a pair of golfer behind at 7-under, including first-round co-leader Robert Allenby.
Meanwhile, noted golf enthusiast Tiger Woods has had an up-and-down round of 1-under through 13 holes, to bring him to 3-under overall. Woods has seen his round of five birdies marred by a pair of bogeys and a double-bogey, to keep him far back from contention (and following last week’s second-round implosion at Quail Hollow, it might be worth noting that Woods is two shots ahead of the current projected cut).
First-round co-leader J.B. Holmes has yet to start his second day after shooting a 6-under 66 on Thursday, and will tee off from the tenth hole at 1:18 PM, while Phil Mickelson will get going at 1:28 PM on the front nine.
