The Brazil wing back was played behind the North Korean defense, just outside the six yard box to the goal’s left. As the ball approached the goal line Maicon came across it with his right foot, striking it with the outside of his boot, putting the ball on goal.

The shot went between Ri Young-Guk and his near post and curved into the side netting at the far post, giving Brazil a 1-0 lead.

Credit to Maicon for determine Brazil’s problem through 55 minutes: adhering to classical mechanics. Maicon magic has given the Selecão a 1-0 lead.
