Redskins Reportedly Nearing Trade For Saints OT Jammal Brown
On Saturday, they are reportedly in the process of acquiring another former first round offensive tackle.
Multiple media outlets are reporting the Redskins and Saints are in the final stages of a deal that will sent Brown to Washington.
There were apparently rumors that a Saints and Redskins trade would involve Albert Haynesworth but, according to reports, Haynesworth is not expected to be included in the trade.
Brown was a first round pick in 2005. He was injured all of the 2009 season -- and the Saints won the Super Bowl last year -- so it’s not a surprise that they’re trying to get rid of him.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggests acquiring Brown would allow the Redskins to play 2009 first round pick Trent Williams at right tackle.
Brown is an unsigned restricted free agent so he would have to sign his tender before anything becomes official.
