Justin Rose’s excellent performance in the first three rounds of the Travelers Championship was wasted by his terrible final nine holes. Bubba Watson got an emotional first tournament win after a two-hole playoff against Scott Verplank and Corey Pavin.

    At Round 4 of the Players Championship, Justin Rose has company. He shares the lead -- 14-under -- with Americans Ben Curtis and Scott Verplank.

    Verplank is just about to head to the clubhouse, leaving Rose and Curtis a chance to capitalize on their final few holes. One stroke behind, in a tie for fourth, are Chris Riley and Bubba Watson.

    Travelers Championship: Justin Rose Leads At Conclusion Of Second Round; Kevin Sutherland In Second

    There wasn’t much movement in the second half of the day of the second round at the Travelers Championship. The day finished with Justin Rose atop the leaderboard at 14-under after shooting a field best 8-under 62 on Friday. American Kevin Suntherland claimed sole possession of second place going into the weekend with a 10-under for the tournament after shooting a pair of 5-under 65s in the first two rounds. Four golfers, including Vijay Singh and first round co-leader Charlie Wi, are tied for third at 9-under. Irishman Padraig Harrington, who led along with Wi and Matthew Goggin after the first round, shot a 1-over 71 on the day to finish at 5-under and tied for 23rd place.

    The cut will be set at 2-under. Among those that did not make it into the weekend: the pride of the PGA Tour, John Daly.

    Travelers Championship: Justin Rose Shoots 8-Under; Takes Clubhouse Lead Mid-Way Through 2nd Round

    Englishman Justin Rose shot a blistering 8-under 62 in the second round of the Travelers Championship on Friday morning to take a commanding lead mid-way through they day’s play. Rose sits at 14-under with Vijay Singh and American Bill Lunde, both of whom are also in the clubhouse already, tied for second - five strokes behind the leader at 9-under.

    The 29 year-old Brit is having himself a nice June despite not qualifying for the 2010 US Open. He claimed his first PGA Tour win earlier this month with a win at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.

    Travelers Championship: Mathew Goggin, Padraig Harrington, Charlie Wi Tied For Lead; Play Suspended

    Six-under 64s are where co-leaders Mathew Goggin, Padraig Harrington and Charlie Wi sit after the suspension of first round play at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. The internationally diverse leaders (Australian, Irish and South Korean, respectively), all finished their rounds in the morning before play was suspended around 2 P.M. ET because of inclement weather.

    Goggin and Wi both played a bogey-free round, tallying six birdies a piece while Harrington had seven birdies and a single bogey.
