Englishman Justin Rose shot a blistering 8-under 62 in the second round of the Travelers Championship on Friday morning to take a commanding lead mid-way through they day’s play. Rose sits at 14-under with Vijay Singh and American Bill Lunde, both of whom are also in the clubhouse already, tied for second - five strokes behind the leader at 9-under.

The 29 year-old Brit is having himself a nice June despite not qualifying for the 2010 US Open. He claimed his first PGA Tour win earlier this month with a win at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio.
There will certainly be movement among the leader board today as yesterday’s leaders have just teed off but it seems as if Rose has a firm grip on the top spot.
