After 97 starts, 577 innings, and 358 runs, the Milwaukee Brewers have finally had enough.
Brewers Release Expensive, Disappointing Jeff Suppan
Jeff Suppan signed a four-year, $42m contract with Milwaukee after winning 12 games and running a 4.12 ERA with St. Louis in 2005. He was mediocre at first, and progressed on to bad, and by the end he’d been shifted to the bullpen in an attempt to both hide him and try to squeeze a little something out of his arm. Finally, the Brewers grew fed up, and released Suppan outright.
The Brewers will eat what’s left of Suppan’s contract, but he was a sunk cost, as he was no longer helping the ballclub. Check out Brew Crew Ball for more.
