- I will say that I agree with those guys that the Celtics need to be more aggressive helping off the corner man when Kobe drives. I wish it was that easy, but they're right.
- Shannon Brown hits a pull up three, and the Lakers lead by 14. On the previous possession, the Celtics tried posting up Glen Davis on Andrew Bynum. It really is too bad how few options they have in the halfcourt, especially early in the second quarter when the subs are in.
- Nate Robinson passes up an open jumper, then gets it back and hits a three. This gives him free reign to shoot an 18-foot corner jumper in transition, which he misses. Jordan Farmer then drives by him and gets a layup. One step forward, two steps back.
- Doc Rivers tells his team to step up their defense, and they obviously should. But the real problem here is that their offense is so inept in the half court. When they aren't scoring in transition, they aren't scoring period. The Lakers are then rebounding the misses and scoring on the confused Celtics.
- And right on cue, on the next possession, someone wasn't where they were supposed to be and the Celtics' offense stagnated.
- I always wonder what coaches should do with guys like Nate Robinson, who can score quickly, but can also miss a lot and ruin the flow of the offense either way. At what point do you say "Screw it, we need some kind of spark," and at what point do you focus on running good offense instead? It's such a tough call. On the one hand, your offense isn't getting you points, but on the other hand, to really get back into the game, you have to improve that offense, not totally abandon it to let guy like Robinson freelance.
- As Tony Allen streaked up the court off that missed shot, three of the Celtics lagged behind. That can't happen.
- I LOVE WALTAHHH.
- Thank you to whichever referee called that a blocking foul on Derek Fisher. I had no idea you had it in you, whoever you are.
