- The Celtics have score nine straight, the last of which came when Rajon Rondo sped by everyone for a layup after Kobe Bryant gambled in transition. Mark Jackson said Kobe made a mistake, which is amazing because Mark Jackson never criticizes Kobe Bryant. Mama, there goes Mark Jackson's normal M.O.
- And ... they just called Derek Fisher for a charge. Good call. I just hate when Fisher does that.
- Jeff Van Gundy makes yet another good point: the Lakers sure are gambling a lot in the backcourt. I'm very surprised, especially when you consider how the Triangle offense is supposed to make it easy for you to get back. The Lakers need to ask themselves whether it's worth it to keep doing this. Maybe you get one steal, but you probably give up many more points in transition because of it.
- Mark Jackson: "Give me Kobe Bryant as a teammate every day of the week." Glad to hear Jackson's back to normal.
- Paul Pierce finally hits a three-pointer. I don't know if it's Ron Artest or just general malaise, but he looks so much worse this year than he did in the 2008 Finals.
- Kobe Bryant just made an incredible play, stealing the rebound from Kevin Garnett, tracking it down, saving it from out of bounds and somehow giving it to Andrew Bynum for a layup. He got excited by his play, as well he should. That was a really awesome play.
- Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have four points on a combined 1-12 shooting. Mark Jackson responds by saying the Celtics need Paul Pierce. Mama there goes that obvious point.
- Kobe just hit a left-handed floater from 14 feet away. The only other player I've ever seen do that was Larry Bird.
- You have to love Rajon Rondo, but he definitely freelances a lot. Something tells me going from one corner to the other with the dribble isn't the best way to use 10 seconds on the shot clock.
- Thank you to Mike Breen for calling out Jackson for saying "To Ko-Be, or not to Ko-Be." Jackson responds by saying he's working on some things here. Maybe he should add "making insightful basketball points" to that list.
- Oh Kobe, why are you so skilled?
- Y'know, Luke Walton's given the Lakers some solid minutes tonight. Yes, he's overpaid. Yes, he's limited. But he's also a godsend to have at the end of your bench when you need him. Few players know the Triangle better.
- Doris Burke asks Kobe why he's so actively involved in the game. I think it has something to do with him Kobe Bryant. I really wish Kobe said that instead of the answer he gave.
- And now it's time for the ABC halftime analysis. Oh joy. I'm going to ignore them as much as I can.
