NBA Finals Game 3 Live Blog: The Lakers Keep Breaking The Offense

  • Ray Allen finally gets into the game by drawing an offensive foul on Kobe Bryant. Hopefully that gets him into this game, because I hate seeing him play this badly.
  • What do you get when you combine Kendrick Perkins' inability to elevate with the Lakers' length? You get what just happened. What do you get when you combine Jeff Van Gundy with all of that? You get yet another comment about the lack of floor spacing. I'm sorry, that doesn't apply here. Perkins was right under the hoop.
  • You know who hasn't really been involved in this game? Pau Gasol. That should change.
  • Tony Allen cuts down the lane and gets a layup. The P.A. announcer appeared to say Ray Allen's name when announcing the basket. Nice try, dude.
  • The Celtics are really trying to get Ray Allen going. They just ran two screens for him. The second resulted in Allen getting Gasol switched on him, and Allen did the right thing and went to the basket.
  • The Lakers keep letting the Celtics hang around by not pounding the ball inside on offense. You have to love Kobe Bryant, but he's breaking the offense too much.
  • The Lakers just ran an isolation for Lamar Odom. What is this? What happened to the Triangle?
  • Kobe just hit a three-pointer after pump-faking with the shot clock down to two. Ron Artest was probably thinking to himself, "Hey, I keep trying that move, and it never works. Why can't I do that?"
  • I'm seriously annoyed at the Lakers right now. They've gone into "Stand around and watch Kobe" mode, and that's keeping the Celtics in the game. Pau Gasol had the ball in the post, and he didn't even try to make a move. Someone should tell the Lakers watching Kobe and marveling at him is our job, not theirs.
