- Kobe Bryant finally hits a shot in the fourth quarter. He's now 10-28 from the field. I take back everything I said about him at halftime.
- The Lakers swarm Kevin Garnett with an aggressive double, and after review, the referees give the ball to the Lakers. It was the right call, but nobody could have seen it for sure at first glance. I wonder if Major League Baseball is taking notes. By the way, instant replay devices should have a new motto. "Instant Replay: Helping NBA Officials Be Somewhat Competent."
- "Mama, pick up the phone!"
- Speaking of instant replay - it comes through again, allowing the referees to make the correct call to give the Celtics the ball back on the rebound.
- I might not be an NBA coach, but something tells me that if you're an NBA team needing a big basket late in the game, you probably shouldn't go to the guy who hasn't made a single shot in the game.
- Derek Fisher pisses me off sometimes, but I have to give him some major props there. He took some pretty hard shots and still was aggressive going to the basket. Lakers by seven, 48 seconds to go. That should probably do it.
- Hold that thought - Lamar Odom just committed a terrible touch foul, allowing Paul Pierce to put home a layup and the foul. Pierce then misses the free throw, and the Lakers can't get the rebound! What do you know, Lamar Odom again. To the replaymobile!
- The Celtics end up getting the ball back, and they call a moving screen on Kevin Garnett because Pau Gasol flopped. That should do it officially. It's worth noting that Ray Allen couldn't even make the point blank layup after the whistle blew. Could anyone imagine that?
- The Celtics run an alley-oop for Kevin Garnett (really?), he throws it away, and that'll do it. Huge, huge win for the Lakers, one they won in the first half. Otherwise, this was an ugly, ugly game. One guy on either team played well - Derek Fisher. Everyone else? Yuck. The Lakers will take it, of course, and they should. They now have a stranglehold on this series. But I have to say, if these were two different NBA teams, there would be more people complaining about how unwatchable that game was.
- Fisher's tearing up in his post-game press conference. For someone who has hit some huge shots in his NBA career, it's really interesting to see that this game is the one that makes him emotional like this.
- On that note, it's late, and I need to go to bed. Thanks for reading.
