Bill Polian: ‘Not Possible’ To Do A New Contract For Reggie Wayne Right Now
Will the holdout get him a new contract?
Not likely, according to Colts president Bill Polian.
“What I told both representatives was that given the current status of both our budget and the labor negotiations, it is not possible to do anything at this point,” Polian said on Sirius NFL Radio. “I recognize that they are both very good players, that they are great guys, that we respect them highly, that we value their contributions, and when it’s time to do that, when it’s propitious to do that, when it is possible to do it, we will.”
Wayne, arguably one of the top five receivers in the game, has two years remaining on his contract $5.47 million and $5.95 million, respectively. Top receivers are getting between $9-10 million these days.
