Reggie Wayne ‘Accomplished Nothing’ By Holding Out From Colts Minicamp

Reggie Wayne skipped minicamp for the Colts in protest of his displeasure with his contract. Bill Polian has said no new deal is coming for Wayne -- citing the uncertain labor landscape -- and that’s just fine with Colts fans, according to SB Nation’s Stampede Blue.

So, to put it bluntly, nothing was accomplished by Mathis and Wayne holding out from OTAs and mini-camp, except creating an unnecessary distraction and, possibly, stunting the growth of the team by not spending valuable time with new teammates like Jerry Hughes and Blair White. Polian has, essentially, told both to shut up, lace up, and get to work.

Stampede Blue has taken a particularly tough stance with Wayne’s holdout. They take a look at Peyton Manning, who’s in a similar situation. Manning is entering the final year of his deal -- and expects to get a new one before the season -- but he’s attended all the Colts practices thus far.
