2010 British Open, Round 3 Update: Henrik Stenson, Rory McIlroy Make Charges

At St. Andrews on Saturday, a number of golfers with early tee times have managed to vault themselves into competition.

Sweden’s Henrik Stenson has shot 4-under through his first twelve holes of the day, playing bogey-free golf to move up to the top of the leaderboard. He’s finding company with opponents who are just now hitting the course, but Stenson is, at the very least, in position to make a move on Sunday. Stenson has won two PGA Tour events, but never a major.

Rory McIlroy is also shooting 4-under on Saturday. Through sixteen holes, he’s managed to move 28 places up the leaderboard into a tie for tenth.

Here is how the top of the leaderboard looks just after 12:00 Eastern:

1. Louis Oosthuizen (-11)
2. Henrik Stenson (-8)
3. Paul Casey (-7)
T4. Martin Kaymer (-6)
T4. Robert Karlsson
T4. Alejandro Canizares
T4. Jin Jeong
T4. Lee Westwood
