Chipper Jones Suffers Potentially Serious Leg Injury Making Play

For a man who's spent time thinking about retirement, you wouldn't know that Chipper Jones was nearing the end from the way he's been playing lately, as he came into action on Tuesday having batted .328 (20-61) over his previous 17 games. However, while making a play on a groundball against the Houston Astros, he appeared to injure either his knee or his ankle pretty badly:

Braves' Chipper Jones is helped off field after hurting left knee making terrific play to throw out Pence. Injury looks bad.

Following is a video of the play:

Jones landed awkwardly on his left leg and went down to the ground, delaying the game for several minutes before being helped off the field. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury, or even on the injury’s location, but stay tuned to this StoryStream and also to Talking Chop for further updates.
