Just over three minutes into the second quarter, Flacco connected with Clayton for the 30-yard score. Clayton lined up on the right side and ran a simple fly pattern before he leaped and hauled in the pass in the back right corner of the end zone for a 10-0 Ravens lead.
In the latter stages of the third quarter, a 57-yard punt return by the Ravens set up a quick scoring drive, which ended on Troy Smith’s eight-yard TD rush up the middle for a 17-9 lead.

That puts the spotlight on Moore, who will begin 2010 as the starter after the Oregon State product led Carolina to a 4-1 finish last season. But Clausen, the team’s second-round pick out of Notre Dame, is widely viewed as the team’s future at the quarterback position and could spark some preseason controversy if he outplays Moore.
Carolina was 8-8 last season, never fully recovering from an 0-3 start.
