Jimmy Clausen was the reason many people tuned into the Panthers and Ravens game on Thursday night. He didn’t light the world on fire but he had a solid showing, as SB Nation’s Cat Scratch Reader says.
NFL Preseason: Jimmy Clausen, Greg Hardy Play Well For Panthers In 17-12 Loss To Ravens
First, two players we were anticipating both gave us a good showing. On offense Jimmy Clausen played fairly well, going 8 for 15 and a bogus INT. He read the defense pretty well and made some decent throws under pressure.
He ended up with 80 yards total.
Meanwhile sixth round pick Greg Hardy was the defensive MVP in the eyes of Cat Scratch Reader.
On defense DE Greg Hardy didn't disappoint either. He collected 5 tackles, 4 for a loss and 2 sacks. Plenty to be excited about for him as well.
Currently, 61% of their readers agree he was the MVP.
At the end of the 2008 college season, many people had him as a top ten prospect for the following year. He never panned out with injuries cropping up and dropped to the sixth round. Early results say the Panthers got a steal.
