Mike Brown To Meet Cole Province At WEC 51

MMA Junkie is reporting that former featherweight champion Mike Brown will return to action at WEC 51:

Brown (23-6 MMA, 5-2 WEC), who looks to rebound from a 1-2 skid, is slated to face Cole Province (6-1 MMA, 1-0 WEC) at WEC 51, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned.
Multiple sources close to the fighters told MMAjunkie.com the fighters have agreed to the September bout and that paperwork should be finalized shortly.
WEC 51 takes place Sept. 30 at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., and airs live on Versus. A featherweight title match between current champ Jose Aldo and challenger Manny Gamburyan headlines the event.

Brown is 1-2 in his last three fights. He dropped the title when he ran into the buzzsaw that is Jose Aldo, rebounded with a quick win over Anthony Morrison and then got knocked out brutally by the man that faces Aldo on the same show, Manny Gamburyan.

Province made his WEC debut with a loss to Diego Nunes (despite the above info from Junkie saying he is 1-0 in the WEC) and followed that up with a split decision win over Fredson Paixao which was changed to a no contest when Province failed his post-fight drug test.

The WEC is likely only bringing Province back in to help Brown get back on track.

SB Nation will have much more on WEC 51 in the weeks ahead.
