Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - David Akers made all five of his field goal attempts, the last being a 36-yarder in the fourth quarter, as Philadelphia rallied for a 28-27 win over Jacksonville in the preseason opener for both teams.
Donovan Who? Kolb, Vick Lead Eagles In 28-27 Victory Over Jaguars
The Eagles turned the page at quarterback Friday night with Kevin Kolb officially replacing Donovan McNabb, who was traded to Washington in the offseason. Kolb, who was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2007 draft, completed 6-of-11 passes for 95 yards and played the first quarter.
Michael Vick, who has been a lightning-rod of controversy with past discipline issues, passed for 119 yards on 11-of-17 efficiency and was intercepted once as the second string QB for Philadelphia. He also scrambled 10 yards for a touchdown.
David Garrard played the first three offensive series for the Jaguars and connected on 5-of-10 passes for 35 yards. Luke McCown finished 11-of-15 for 244 yards with three TDs through the air.
