2010 Barclays: Tiger Woods Collapses On Back Nine, John Senden Atop Leaderboard At 9-Under

Well, perhaps it was a bit premature to anoint Tiger Woods as being “back”. After pacing the field with a 6-under 65 on Thursday (along with Vaughn Taylor), and claiming sole possession of the lead halfway through his round on Friday, Woods collapsed on the back nine to fall five shots behind current leader John Senden.

Woods came through the turn 2-under on the day and 8-under overall, a shot ahead of journeyman Kevin Streelman, who catapulted up the leaderboard after a 8-under 63 on Friday. But Woods imploded on his back nine, bogeying the second, fifth, sixth and ninth holes, en route to a 2-over 73 that dropped him into a tie for fifteenth place (Woods began his day teeing off from the tenth hole).

Senden is 5-under through 11 holes, to bring him to 9-under overall, two shots ahead of Streelman and Vaughn Taylor for the lead. Senden has played bogey-free thus far and got off to a scorching start with birdies on his first three holes.
