The injury to Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno on the opening day of Broncos training camp has dampened expectations for the second-year running back, not to mention his standing among fantasy owners. But the rusher returned to practice for the first time since sustaining the injury and is expected to start in the team’s Week 1 game against Jacksonville.
Knowshon Moreno Returns To Practice
↵NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora cautions that these type of injuries tend to hamper players for months until they have an extended period of time to recover. History supports that claim to some degree, but with the limited competition against the Broncos top back, even if he’s slightly limited, Moreno is still going to get the bulk of attention.
↵LenDale White is suspended through the first four games of the season, meaning Moreno won’t have anyone other than perennial back-up and still injured Correll Buckhalter taking carries until the fifth game at the earliest. While Moreno might drop on draft boards, he’ll still merit a start on a flex position or possibly as a second running back.
