It was expected that fantasy stalwart Larry Fitzgerald would be taking a step back without Kurt Warner throwing him the ball anymore. And while Fitzgerald had a pretty good opening week for fantasy purposes by gaining 43 yards and a touchdown, it was obvious that he and new Cardinals quarterback Derek Anderson weren’t yet on the same page.
Anderson targeted Fitzgerald 15 times against the Rams, but the duo only connected on three passes, oftentimes being well off the mark.

↵Anderson vowed that the connection will come together in time and that Fitzgerald is still feeling the effects of a preseason knee injury. It’s likely true that familiarity that the two will develop a better rapport, but it’s not going to evolve into what Fitzgerald had with Leinart. Fitty will remain among the league’s best, but his ceiling clearly got lower once Warner left.
