The Raiders might have failed to meet even the modestly improved expectations for them in their Week 1 blowout at Tennessee, but the one surprising positive was the performance of Darren McFadden, who gained 150 total yards and scored the team’s only touchdown on Sunday.
With Michael Bush Returning To Practice, Does Darren McFadden Return To The Bench?
↵Going into the season, it was anticipated that the underperforming former 1st round pick would be on the wrong end of a carry sharing arrangement with Michael Bush. So far, however, Bush has been hampered by a broken thumb on his left hand that requires surgery less than a month ago.
↵On Wednesday, Bush participated fully in Raiders practice, raising suspicions that he could return to the line-up after missing the season opener. However, as NBC Sports notes, Bush took part in most of last Wednesday’s practice as well, but was ultimately deactivated prior to the game against the Titans. Which means that McFadden owners should act for the time being that he will be the featured back going into the game Sunday against the Rams. Even if Bush is active, chances are he won’t take that many carries away from McFadden.
