Fantasy Football Start/Sit, Week 2
Agonizing over your lineup? We’ve got you covered with some not so obvious start/sits for Week 2.

Starts
Michael Vick (@DET) - While it is still possible that Kevin Kolb starts this Sunday there is a far better chance that Vick finds himself under center in Detroit. The Lions are still a weak defensive unit and can't keep up with weapons DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, and Brent Celek. And this is to say nothing of the all-world speed that makes Vick a QB2 and WR2 rolled into one. Expect Vick to throw and run for a score as well as post over 250 total yards, better than most NFL signal callers this week.
Darren McFadden (vs. STL) - On the heels of his breakout 150 total yard performance in Week 1, fans of RUN DMC are hoping the former top-5 pick can do what he has never done before: register 100 total yards in back to back games. And it looks as though he'll get every opportunity. Backfield mate Michael Bush was downgraded to limited participation in Thursday's practice and isn't a good bet to play on Sunday. McFadden has a great matchup against a perennial doormat rush defense and an even better opportunity to secure a lion share of the carries going forward. View him as a rock solid RB2.
Mike Williams (@CAR) - The Panther secondary had a rough Week 1, giving up 3 touchdown's to rising star Hakeem Nicks. This week, Carolina's corners will see another big, physical receiver in rookie Mike Williams. Tampa Bay is an effective rushing team and Carolina favors a Cover-2 defensive look, both of which will limit the attention safeties can pay to Williams. While a three touchdown game might not be in the cards for the Syracuse alum, it's a good bet to use Williams as a high upside WR3 on Sunday
Sits
Carson Palmer (BAL) - Palmer compiled some very gaudy numbers last week, thanks in large part to being down big to an offensive juggernaut in New England. This week, Palmer faces the Ravens defense, which held the Jets to under 80 yards passing. While Palmer is clearly a better QB than Mark Sanchez it's worth noting that Palmer has just 4 passing touchdowns in his last 5 games against Baltimore. Palmer should be a nice starting option for most of the season, but he's more of a QB2 this week in a difficult intra-division tilt.
Javhid Best (vs. PHI) - While Matthew Stafford's injury and Calvin Johnson's injury grabbed headlines this week, Best escaped scrutiny for what was a horrendous 20 yard performance. Best did well to score two touchdowns, but his performance was among the worst in the league. Consider that Best had two decent rushes of 7 and 8 yards. That means his other 12 carries went for a total of 5 yards, with just 3 carries once Stafford was knocked from the game. Best is still the featured back in Detroit this season but his stock just can't be viewed the same without Stafford leading the offense. Expect Philiadelphia to put 8 in the box as they dare Shaun Hill to beat them through the air.
Devin Aromashodu (@DAL) - The Bears "number 3" wideout was targeted a team-high 11 times on Sunday, en route to a 5 catch, 71 yard performance. But expectations should be tempered as QB Jay Cutler spoke this week about how receivers will be utilized going forward, saying:
It’s gonna be game by game who gets the ball; depending on what coverage -- if they’re rolling strong, if they’re rolling weak -- we’re gonna go with the matchups.
It's going to be difficult to predict who will get the looks week to week. But you can expect that the Bears Week 2 opponent, the Dallas Cowboys, have plenty of film with Aromashodu in a starring role. The Cowboys will work to take away the comforts of having his possession receiver and try and force Cutler into longer, more difficult throws. This week, Johnny Knox or Devin Hester will benefit from the Martz receiver carousel. Proceed with caution as Aromashodu could be limited by both his opponent and his QB on his way to modest WR3 numbers.
Not so much a sit here, but some food for thought:
Ahmad Bradshaw is overvalued this week. While most will point to the 231 yards that Arian Foster gashed the Colt defense for, it's important to remember that the NFL is a league of adjustments. Do you think the Colts are going to stand pat after giving up two games worth of rushing yards to one player on one Sunday? The Colts will be focused on stopping the run. And while they may not be an elite defensive unit, don't underestimate the role of pride in the NFL. The Colts will be at Lucas Oil Stadium for the home opener, facing an 0-2 start--almost unheard of in the Peyton Manning era. While Bradshaw could have a big game, it's just as likely that an inspired Colt team delivers a strong defensive effort just long enough for Peyton to build a lead on the Giants. Once that happens, expect the Giants to lean more heavily on their Manning and the passing game. Bradshaw could come close to 100 total yards, but those expecting anything close to what Foster did in Week 1 aren't being realistic.
