Trent Edwards Era Over In Buffalo: Bills Release QB

The Trent Edwards era is over in Buffalo

The Bills announced on Monday that Edwards has been released.

It marks the end of his three years in Buffalo after the Bills made him a third round pick in the 2007 NFL draft.

Edwards had a rocky career with the Bills taking over J.P. Losman in the middle of his rookie season. He took the job full-time in year two and was efficient completing 65 percent of his passes for just under 2,700 yards.

The problem is that Edwards regressed and didn’t look sharp in seven starts in 2009.

He started the 2010 season as the Bills starter but was benched last week for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Bills head coach Chan Gailey is addressing the decision on Monday afternoon.
