No. 1 seed Pittsburgh had its issues early with No. 16 seed UNC-Asheville, but eventually, the Panthers pulled away for a 74-51 win. Pittsburgh only led by five points at halftime, but slowly enforced their will on the game and got the easy win.
Ashton Gibbs starred with 26 points to lead Pittsburgh, shooting 9-17 from the field and generally looking like the only guy who was really on point for the Panthers. Pittsburgh's defense ultimately did the rest, holding UNC-Asheville to 31 percent shooting from the field for the game.
Matt Dickey led UNC-Asheville with 21 points. The Bulldogs can take solace in the fact that they competed for one half.
