2011 NFL Draft: QB Ryan Mallett Visits Tennessee Titans

Former Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett is one of the biggest mysteries in the 2011 NFL draft. First, no one seems to know much about the drug use rumors surrounding him. Sure, there are rumors but no evidence of anything. Second, he’s got one of the strongest arms but has a lot of trouble with the blitz. Will some team fall in love with his arm and reach for him?

That remains to be seen but one team with a first round pick will work him out. The Tennessee Titans, holding the eighth overall pick, had Mallett in for a visit on Monday, according to Steve Wyche of NFL.com.

The Titans could be looking at Mallett for the eighth overall pick or their second round pick. Frankly, they have very few quarterback options so they’re more likely than other teams to possibly reach in the first round on Mallett. If you don’t have a quarterback, you need one. Maybe that’ll be Mallett.

The top two quarterbacks -- Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert -- will likely be gone by the Titans pick so they’ll have a decision to make if they want a quarterback.
