Ryan Harris Signs One-Year Deal With Eagles, Spurns Broncos

Harris signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and became a part of the “dream team” on Tuesday.

Most folks seemed to think it was a foregone conclusion that offensive lineman Ryan Harris was going to re-up with the Denver Broncos. The fact that he had a scheduled visit with the Broncos Tuesday drove that home even further ("visits for Broncos free agents who already know the facility are likely nothing more than a formality to re-signing").

So much for that. Harris signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and became a part of the "dream team" on Tuesday.

Harris is an athletic offensive lineman who fits what new line coach Howard Mudd is looking for. It would appear he has a good chance to beat out Winston Justice for the starting right tackle job. The Eagles employ a left-handed quarterback in Michael Vick, which means the right side of the line is his blind side.

Harris was a third-round pick out of Notre Dame for the Broncos in 2007 and he was the starter at right tackle for the last three seasons. Injuries over the last two seasons have limited him to 19 games. In Philadelphia, he should have a good shot to start whereas Denver was looking at him as more of a spot-starter.
